About Us

Serving others is a great reward in and of itself, and serving others with food is icing on the cake.  Food has always been a passion of Chef Ray’s and he is no stranger to any kitchen.  At the young age of 14, Ray was right at home cooking in his family restaurants.  His passion continued throughout his teenage years, 20’s, 30’s and continues today.  For the last 11 years, Chef Ray has poured his heart and passion into Lefty’s Cafe which was located in the little hamlet of Bezanson, Alberta. 

Lefty’s Cafe or ‘Lefty’s‘ as the locals call it, was a popular community gathering spot.  It was here that Chef Ray called home and connected with guests near and far!  Guests that became family! During this time, catering requests for Lefty’s great food grew.  In January 2023, Chef Ray shifted his focus to catering full time.  This was not an easy decision, but was one that offered better family/work balance while still serving Lefty’s guests.      

Lefty’s Cafe becomes ‘Lefty’s Catering & Kitchens’

Lefty’s Cafe slightlychanged their name into Lefty’s Catering.  Their passion is still good old-fashioned wholesome food, which is why the menu continues to focus on home-style family favourites. Quality ingredients prepared the home-style way, equals great food.  It is that simple.

As Lefty’s Catering continues with its new direction and in a new kitchen, they  look forward to continuing to connect with their customers, community and fellow foodies for years to come. 

Where to find us?

Lefty’s Catering and Kitchens is proud to be in the following locations.

Catering – Various locations! From Valleyview to Fairview to Hythe and everywhere in between. Lefty’s specializes in catering at any location.  Your place of business, local green spaces, community halls, home residences, family cabins, job sites, etc.  

Sexsmith Curling Club – this is our homebase and our main kitchen that we use to cook our catering menus. The Sexsmith Curling Club is available for rentals and is the perfect location for team meetings, celebrations, AGM’s, curling, team building and more. 

Lyon’s Production Services Event Centre – (Riding Arena) Teepee Creek.  Here you will find Lefty’s Crew members in the concession kitchen during events.  Events include junior rodeos, high school rodeos, barrel racing jackpots, team roping jackpots, fundraisers and more. Check the calendar on the Teepee Creek Stampede App or if there are lots of vehicles in the parking lot, come on in and enjoy some lunch! 

Lefty’s on the Loose Food Truck – find the food truck at various local community events such as Teepee Creek Stampede, Chatauqua Days, etc.
